Hike for Homeless is aimed at raising awareness of homelessness in Toowoomba and much needed funds to ensure the Basement Soup Kitchen can continue to provide lunch time meals, blankets, clothing and essential services to people who are homeless or at high risk of homelessness in Toowoomba.  

Each year Fierce enters a team to raise money for this very worthy cause. Of particular note in 2019, we hiked and launched a "You are enough" tshirt campaign- this saw us rasie over $4,000.

Fierce Faith

Tragically a beautiful young friend, Mel was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma.  The cancer is in the bile ducts of the liver and has spread to the liver itself. Doctors say it is incurable. 

Melody’s strong faith is something that has deeply moved and inspired.  It has carried her through her darkest of hours and continues to amaze us all. Faith, as it turns out, is Melody’s middle name.  Something we only learned after we approached the family with our idea.  

I can honestly not put into words what an incredible and magnificent person Mel is.  She is the most wonderful mother, has the wittiest sense of humor, the kindest of hearts, the most abundant amount of compassion and the fiercest of faith.

This incredible women fought through chemo and has made the tough and personal decision to cease treatment.  Mel and her husband Dave are literally soul mates.  They’re the most generous, kind and beautiful couple you have EVER met. They have 3 young, wonderful and hilarious children and from here 'Fierce Faith " was born. 

My heart is full tonight.  Together, as a community, we have donated 2k dollars to The Collins family.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this dear cause.  Below is a picture of Dave and their youngest daughter.  She calls her shirt, “Her special Mummy shirt” and insists on wearing the heart on the front.  

I also want to deeply thank the secret donor who covered the full cost of both the printing and the shirts.  Thus, allowing us to give 100% of the proceeds directly to the family.  

Fierce Faith guys!  Fierce belief that good really does prevails over evil and that the power of love conquers all.  

Please wear your shirts in love and continue to honour Melody’s message.  There’s always a gift to be seen.

Mel's Inaugural  Fierce Faith Run.

We ran, walked, laughed in honour of Melody Collins for our inaugural ‘Fierce Faith Run’.  Thanks to everyone’s kindness and generosity, we were able to raise $645!   This money will go straight to Kara Isaac’s ‘go fund me page’ for which she is raising awareness and funds for the Mary Potter Hospice. 

A special thanks to all of Mel’s family and friends for allowing us to honour and remember Melody.  

Melody was truly one of a kind and embodied the fiercest of faith!   My life will forever be changed, as many others, because of the person she was.  When we remember and honour her, we do so by spreading kindness, showing compassion, laughing harder, loving more fiercely and forever believing in hope and goodness.

Our Fierce Faith 

Every day 55 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer, that's over 20,000 diagnoses this year alone. It is expected of those will be 170 men.

Getting this diagnoses has a profound effect on the person, their loved one's and the community.

One of our fiercest members, Ann-Maree, a breast cancer fighter and survivor, shared her story with us earlier this year and we would love to give back to Breast Cancer Network Australia, an organisation that has supported not only our Ann-Maree but countless other members of our community through some of their hardest days.

Together we raised $750.00 for the BCNA!!
